Chapter 1152 The Strictest Father, in Every Sense
In that drifting, super-time flow, Superman the Youngster is gazing at the distant horizon.
Amidst the sea of clouds formed by countless fragments of time, the faces of former friends appear and disappear.
Superman the Supreme hasn't made a decision yet, and he thinks Parallax Mohal probably has too.
Should they be tired of the world? Should they leave this place? Leave this never-ending superhero game, Lamp One, Hero Day, and all those forgotten characters? Too many characters have already vanished forever, and the story of DC multiverse superheroes and villains will never end, not now, never.
The current victory is merely a prelude to new conflicts, much like the endless loop Batman faces. Once Gotham City is completely saved and the crime rate has dropped, a reboot can be launched, and a new story can begin.
Do I really want to continue living in a world where there is always crisis?
The once-powerful Superman longed to become a hero. During the crisis on Infinite Earths, he followed his mentor without hesitation, but what did he ultimately gain? If he were given the chance to leave without hesitation and embark on a new chapter in history, what reason would he have to refuse?
Superman the Supreme doesn't know.
He sighed, then threw a punch forward. Reality shattered like tofu, exploding inch by inch like a mirror. Superman Primal propelled himself, flying into the cracks and returning to his temporary home in the universe—a hillside filled with a vast starry sky, below which lay a white sand beach, breathtakingly beautiful—just like many years ago, when Superman Primal Clark Kent, dressed in his Superman costume, encountered Earth-2 Superman from the main universe on the beach, thus becoming the hero who saved the world.
"So, have you made up your mind?"
Superman turned around and saw Martha the Clown and her husband Thomas Wayne walking up the hillside like ordinary people, until they reached his side.
"Where is Parallax Morhal?"
"He's run into a little trouble."
"The Joker Martha," or rather, "Martha" said, "he no longer wears that exaggerated makeup. The power of the 5th dimension still surrounds him, but Superman Supreme knows that if Martha intends to leave the DC multiverse, then this power from the bat mite must be returned. However, it seems that Martha doesn't care about that now."
"We've decided to leave. Batman Dragon will help us reset the timeline of our universe. We can go back to that night in Crime Alley and start over. Batman Dragon may not be our Bruce, but we can finally save our Bruce."
Even if the price is to become an ordinary person again?
The Supreme Superman, he doesn't know what that feels like. He's been Superman for so long that he's long forgotten what he was like without superpowers.
However, the problems Martha and the others face are not problems for Superman Supreme. His power comes from himself, and even if the universe changes, he will still be the invincible Superman Supreme.
But that world is Batman: Dragon's home turf.
What kind of world will he create using the Baby Multiverse and the 5G era?
Batman: Dragon has helped him find his original Earth, and the DC multiverse has helped him restore that world.
Just as Batman's Dragon told him—
He has now become a weapon in the DC multiverse.
When he is not needed, he will quietly stay in his own primordial universe, under hard control, living a quiet life.
When the DC multiverse needs him, he will appear in the main universe for various reasons, either to deal with powerful villains, to become an unexpected force, or simply to take on the core of the DC multiverse and temporarily act as the concept of Superman himself.
The Primordial Universe is now safe; this place is now the cessation valve for the Supreme Superman, his scabbard.
The only choice Supreme Superman now has to make is whether or not he should become the DC Multiverse Judgment Sword, to go or to stay.
And—if I really leave, will the DC multiverse generate a new Parallax Morhal?
Does he really still have that power?
"Alright, you've decided to leave, so what difficulties is Parallax Mohal facing?"
"He's been struggling to restore his Seaside City's 700 million inhabitants," Martha said. "His universe isn't like yours. Although the Primordial Universe was destroyed, there's a record of his restoration in the history of the DC Multiverse. But Hal's Seaside City's 700 million inhabitants were never restored. The DC Multiverse simply restarted history and then regenerated a new Seaside City for Hal on the main universe's timeline after the historical restart. The 700 million people in that brand-new Seaside City aren't Hal's people."
While listening to this part, the Supreme Little Superman's thoughts wandered a bit.
Will the DC multiverse create another version of him? Do they still have the power to create a new version of him?
"so?"
"So Hal and Batman Dragon are trying to make sure that when they peel the history of Hal's Beach City before its destruction from the timeline, they don't destroy the downstream timeline," Martha said. "It's difficult, in every sense of the word."
"Yes, it is indeed very difficult."
Supreme Superman turned his head, and a blue light shone in the air beside him. A portal opened, and Chen Tao flew out of it with a gloomy expression.
"I'm about to explode with work," he complained. "For a long time, I thought it would be incredibly difficult for the Anti-Monitors to try and change their own history during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. But after actually doing it myself, I realized how difficult it really is. Green Lantern's importance to history is too great. Once we change a certain process, 'Zero Hour' and 'Nightfall' will trigger a series of chain reactions."
(Note: In the Nightfall event, Parallax Morhal will perish together with the Sun Eater, transforming from a villain into a hero who saves the world.)
"And then there's that damned ghostly Howl era—"
(Note: Hal, who died in the Nightfall event, was possessed by the spirit of God and was eventually resurrected in Green Lantern.)
"History is intricately linked, and I'm almost bursting with deciphering it. I just finished impersonating Superman and fighting the Sun Eater. Let me rest for a bit; I still need to deal with the aftermath of what I did earlier—"
He chattered on and on, not caring whether the three people next to him could understand him, but then he suddenly stopped.
Even the Supreme Superman paused.
"Very well, you've finally fallen for it—" He smiled at Superman Supreme: "The Anti-Monitor embraced the concept of the Nameless Old Dragon himself. He gave me a taste of my weakness when I was at my weakest. Well done. He covets the position I have, and I want the power he possesses. Isn't this a two-way street? So now it's your turn to act, Superman Supreme."
He said, "Just as you have done before—you are the most severe father of the anti-surveillance."
He shrugged, then gave a grin that might have seemed menacing to those who were trying to suppress him: "In every sense of the word."
