Chapter 566 - 554: Good People Live in Peace! (Added for League Leader ScHatZ!)
"It’s nothing! Just a scrape!" Ji Yi said, frowning as she turned her hand over to examine her scraped elbow.
"Young Master Chang?" one of the young men beside Chang Yuanyi asked just as Ji Yi finished speaking. He glanced grimly at the Mercedes driver and his men, then looked expectantly at Chang Yuanyi. Should we deal with them now?
Chang Yuanyi, however, simply raised his hand slightly. "Let’s wait for Lord Qin to arrive." He then turned to Ji Yi. "Miss Ji, please wait a moment."
With that, he jogged back to his car. A few seconds later, he returned with cotton swabs, disinfectant, and a bandage. Walking over to Ji Yi, he asked, "Miss Ji, let me disinfect that for you and put on a bandage, alright?"
After a moment’s hesitation, Ji Yi nodded without any fuss.
"Hold this," Chang Yuanyi said, unscrewing the cap of the disinfectant bottle and handing it to the young man beside him. After the young man took it, Chang Yuanyi dipped a cotton swab inside, pulled it out, and gently wiped it across Ji Yi’s scraped elbow.
HISS!
The sudden sting of the disinfectant made Ji Yi gasp.
"Just bear with it, Miss Ji," he said softly, discarding the used swab and continuing to clean the wound with a fresh one. After a thorough cleaning, he applied a bandage.
Just then, the roar of a pickup truck’s engine was heard. Amid the stunning display of supercars lining the street, a pickup truck came rumbling down the shoulder, bumping as it went. As all eyes turned toward it, Li Qiuzhe swung open the door and hurried over to Chang Yuanyi.
"Young Master Chang! Hasn’t Lord Qin arrived yet?" In the presence of people like Chang Yuanyi, Li Qiuzhe no longer used the casual "Fourth Brother," opting for the more respectful title.
"He should be here soon," Chang Yuanyi replied. "By the way, why did Lord Qin ask you to come?"
"I don’t know. He just told me to bring a truck full of orange paint," Li Qiuzhe said, looking completely bewildered. A storm was raging in his mind. Hundreds of luxury cars are blocking Jinling Avenue to a standstill. What in the world is going on?
Still lost in thought, he turned to Ji Yi and asked Chang Yuanyi, "Young Master Chang, who is this?"
"Lord Qin’s elder sister," Chang Yuanyi replied truthfully.
"Ah! Elder Sister, hello! I’m Lord Qin’s roommate, Li Qiuzhe! A pleasure to meet you!" Li Qiuzhe said, extending his hand toward Ji Yi.
"Hello, I’m Ji Yi. It’s a pleasure," Ji Yi replied with a faint smile, gently shaking his outstretched hand.
With Qin Fan yet to arrive, no one made a move against the Mercedes driver and his men, as if they were being completely ignored. Seeing that they were being treated like thin air, the reinforcements the Mercedes driver had called over began to quietly consider retreating. But they had barely turned when one of the young men beside Chang Yuanyi shouted, "Trying to run? You think you can get away?"
Startled by the sudden shout, the men who had planned to escape were so frightened they collapsed to the ground. They looked at Chang Yuanyi’s group in terror and choked out, "Young Masters, this has nothing to do with us! We had no idea what was happening. We were just called over by Manager Wang! We don’t know anything about this!"
Unfortunately for them, their choked pleas were met only with cold smirks from the young masters.
"Stay put! Whether you live or die, get crippled or maimed, will all be decided shortly. Now, stand still! If you dare to run, you’d better consider the consequences!" Seeing that Chang Yuanyi hadn’t spoken, the same young master who had shouted before snarled coldly.
Up to this point, these young masters still didn’t know the full story. But that didn’t matter. Right or wrong, it was all irrelevant. All they had to do was follow the orders of Young Master Chang and Lord Qin.
On the opposite side of Jinling Avenue, the Toyota Corolla driver saw the scene at his destination and turned back to stammer at Qin Fan, "Sir, the road... it’s completely blocked! We can’t get through!"
"Just pull into the leftmost lane. I’ll get out there," Qin Fan said, his face devoid of expression.
"Oh, okay, okay!" the driver acknowledged, flicking on his turn signal and steering to the far left. He stopped at the edge of the gap between the two directions of stopped luxury cars, wiping cold sweat from his brow. "Sir, is it okay to stop here?"
"It’s fine," Qin Fan replied. Taking Jiang Yino’s hand, he pushed open the car door and stepped out. He gave Jiang Yino no chance to resist, decisively scooping her up into his arms. Facing the guardrail that stood a couple of feet high, he cleared it in a single leap.
"Lord Qin is here!"
"Lord Qin is here!"
"Lord Qin is here!"
The young masters exclaimed reflexively when they saw Qin Fan get out of the Corolla, carry Jiang Yino, and leap over the guardrail. Then, as Qin Fan approached, they instinctively bowed slightly and called out in unison, "Greetings, Lord Qin!"
"Mm," he responded faintly, setting Jiang Yino down.
The thunderous chorus of "Greetings, Lord Qin!" completely stunned Jiang Yino. Every car in sight was a top-tier luxury vehicle, and it was obvious that their owners were all wealthy and influential young masters. Yet now, they were all respectfully greeting Qin Fan? Were they insane? Just how powerful was her boyfriend? How could a freshman from Jiangzhou make these scions of Jinling’s elite willingly and respectfully call him Lord Qin?
In a daze, Jiang Yino was led by Qin Fan toward Ji Yi.
"Elder Sister, where are you hurt?" Qin Fan asked Ji Yi, not even glancing in the direction of the Mercedes driver as he forcibly suppressed the urge to explode.
"It’s nothing, I just scraped my elbow. Young Master Chang already disinfected it and put on a bandage. It’s not a big deal," Ji Yi said.
"Let me see your hand." His voice was insistent. He cared deeply, and even though his rational mind told him Ji Yi wasn’t seriously hurt, he couldn’t help himself.
Though she wasn’t sure what he intended to do, Ji Yi extended her hand anyway.
Placing two fingers on Ji Yi’s wrist, Qin Fan scanned her entire body with his Divine Sense. Only after confirming that there were no other injuries did he pull his hand back, relieved.
"Yinuo, stay here with Elder Sister for now," Qin Fan said, turning to Jiang Yino.
"Mm," Jiang Yino, who was still in a complete daze, responded blankly.
Qin Fan nodded gently and released Jiang Yino’s hand. With everyone’s eyes fixed on him, he did not walk toward the Mercedes driver. Instead, he made his way over to the elderly sanitation worker.
Being looked down on, bullied, humiliated... he knew that feeling all too well.
"Sir, are you hurt? Where did they hit you?" Qin Fan asked, crouching down and forcing a smile for the still-trembling man.
"I’m fine, I’m fine! Son, it’s better to let things be! Don’t go looking for trouble, please! I know you and that young lady are good people, and good people deserve to live in peace. Don’t cause any trouble. You’re still young, don’t do anything illegal! I’m fine, really. My old bones are tough, I’m not hurt! You kids should go, hurry, before the police get here!" the sanitation worker said nervously, waving his hands dismissively.
"Good people *should* live in peace. But that means the bad people have to be punished," Qin Fan said with a sigh. He took the old man’s hand, relieved to sense that while the man was injured, his injuries weren’t serious.
He then slowly stood up and, under the sanitation worker’s helpless and astonished gaze, began walking toward the Mercedes driver. Although Ji Yi hadn’t pointed him out, Qin Fan knew exactly who was responsible.
"Is there no law anymore?" Qin Fan asked, his voice completely devoid of emotion as he stopped in front of the Mercedes driver.
Those who knew Qin Fan understood that this emotionless state was the calm before the storm—the sign that he was about to erupt.
