Chapter 124: Death inside inferno
Chapter 124: Death inside inferno
The landscape changed in the whole area around them; half of the world around them turned into dark souls screaming in pain, while the other half was blood with skeletons inside of it flowing like a tornado.
"Bloody diamond."
Following blood arrows, Ray charged toward the general; their blades clashed in the air. Alexanderia had to step back as thousands of blood arrows came after her; even as she stepped back, they followed her.
"Pointless." Alexanderia said with a calm voice, "All the blood projectiles that went after her faded away." "In my domain nothing can harm me."
Ignoring her words, Ray summoned more blood lances, and from the borders of his domain, machine guns came to being. A red wave crashed down on Alexandria, with Ray at the center of it.
"Hand of death."
A dark flame ignited on the katana. With the smallest touch, Ray’s blood sword turned into half; replacing it, he attacked from the side. By her blade once more, she blocked his strike, turning it into nothingness.
That was Ray’s biggest weakness for the moment; he had no weapon or armor that could fit him.
Even with having no effect on her, Ray attacked constantly; their sword skills were equally matched, and her domain protected her anyway.
Dodging an attack, Alexanderia’s punch landed on Ray’s face. Swinging her sword, she wanted to slice him in two, yet Ray was already on her side, trying to find an opening again.
"I think I have a grasp finally of its ability!" Ray whispered to himself. Chains made out of bone came out from his domain, giving him a new surge in power. With a smile Ray charged forward again; a red aura shone around his body.
A clone identical to him came out from his body, attacking from the side, and another one. Their powers were equal to Ray’s, and unlike his old Babylon clones, he could control them himself.
The clones’ attack didn’t work either, but Ray started to experiment with them. His limit was three at a time, and their lifespans were around one minute; if he could change his spot with them, it could have been great, but all of them faded as Alexanderia could guess his real body each time.
"Its true power should lie in the time when I have a good weapon, if it can mimic its powers too." His mind wandered again about the piercing magic. "I’m keeping up with a general, which is a level higher; this ascended magic is too good."
Alexandria’s hand pointed at Ray’s body. A dark pillar appeared above his head, entering his body. If it were a weaker opponent, it would die on the spot, but for Ray, the effect was that the pillar caused half of his body to lock down, not listening to him.
Changing the sword to his left hand, Ray’s attacks became more fierce; even with half of his body not moving, small wings on the other side made up for the shortcoming.
Time passed by, making the smile on Ray’s face wider; he clearly enjoyed the fight. Even with both of them in a lockdown, he didn’t hold back.
Alexanderia tried to find an opening, but his defense was tightened close. "When did he become so strong?" Drops of sweat moved down from her forehead.
"Tell me, Alexanderia, have you ever run out of magic?" Ray said with a mocking voice.
Suddenly everything made sense for Alexanderia. Sustaining a domain already cost so much magic, but Ray used it rarely to attack while her shield was active for an hour straight. There was no backing down as Ray’s domain started to swallow more of the dark souls.
"You still lack it, Alexandria."
She yelled as the dark flames on her sword increased, "Shut up." Instead of defense, she attacked with her full might; her sword sent dark slashes in all directions, but none of her strikes landed on Ray.
"You have no killing intent in your eyes." His voice didn’t hide his excitement; his body shook from the emotions.
The look in his eyes told Alexanderia all she needed to know; he wouldn’t step down until one of them died in this fight, and with her stupid move her chances were lower.
"I’m not a monster like you." Screaming her words, she crushed her own ego and ran out of the two domains as fast as she could.
The sight outside made her curse to the world, "All units run from this place as fast as possible."
Her massage was sent to every human being in the submarines, yet they disobeyed her.
"General, we will slow him down." All of them moved closer with missiles shooting out from the cannons.
"All of their hopes are on me; I can’t die in here!" A single tear came out from her eyes as she moved through the water with her magic.
It was too dark to see the bottom of the sea, yet her magic could sense human lives fading away one by one. Every cell in her body wanted to return there and kill Ray, but her mind ignored her emotions. In minutes she came out of the water; Katarina and General Armstrong awaited her arrival on the deck of a ship.
"Good, good, you guys are here; we can take him out with the three of us." Getting ready to dive back into the water, Katarina held her shoulder.
"He already escaped."
General Armstrong turned around. "Those soldiers’ sacrifice was worth it; we now know the full limits of his powers."
Alexandria fell on her knees; she barely had 10 percent left of her magic. "What about Marian and the witch?"
"We couldn’t track them either, but Marian seemed to finally break the seals of her magic." Katarina explained with a calm voice. It didn’t help Alexanderia as she punched the ground with her fists; she couldn’t face Marian alone either, none of them could.
Katarina sighed; she knew Ray better than anyone. Now that his enemies knew of his powers, he would hide for some time to gather more strength.
"He would hunt generals one by one..." Hiding her killing intent, she sent a message to her old friend.
"The game is on."
